Recent Release:

Most of the time when a new and exciting book has been released I share one - or a lot of - recent releases posts. Of course, this goes straight to my too large TBR-pile, but oh well. It's books - we need 'em.

Series: The Asylum Saga #1
Genre: YA, paranormal
Publisher: Bookish Group Press
Publication Date: April 28th 2015
Length: 261 pages

Synopsis:

She meant to help a ghost...not unleash a curse.

Amelia Dupree hasn’t seen the Woman in White since the night her brother died.

The ghost seems to have disappeared from the woods surrounding Asylum, Pennsylvania—that is, until Charlie Blue moves into the creepy old MacAllister House next door. Amelia can’t help liking him, even though she spent her childhood thinking his grandmother was a witch. And she definitely can’t ignore the connection between his arrival and the Woman in White’s return.

Then Amelia learns that the Woman in White is a prisoner, trapped between the worlds of the living and the dead. Devastated by the idea that her brother could be suffering a similar fate, Amelia decides to do whatever it takes to help the Woman in White find peace--and Charlie agrees to help her.

But when Amelia’s classmates start to drown in the Susquehanna River, one right after another, rumors swirl as people begin to connect the timing of Charlie’s arrival with the unexplained deaths. As Charlie and Amelia uncover the dark history of Asylum, they realize they may have unleashed an unspeakable evil. One they have to stop before everything they love is destroyed.

Blurb from Goodreads:
Liv never expected to find herself trapped in an alley facing a band of rough bikers. And she certainly never expected to see him again...

When Shock encounters an old flame in a dark alley, it sends him spiraling. She's still as beautiful as ever, but she seems to have fallen on hard times since college, and he's concerned about the risks she seems to take. In order to keep her safe and finally have her for himself, he makes a sensual deal: his help for her complete submission. But will Liv be able to let go of the past and fall for the hard rider?

My review:

I don't really have that much to say about this. It was good. I liked the story line, some of the characters and some of the events. It didn't really give me that much to reflect and at some times I found myself with an uneasy feeling.
I didn't like the main character that much and that bothered me. When reading a book I can't be annoyed with the main character. It brings down the whole story. Even if the story is great I give it a lower review if I don't like the main character.

I found the whole concept was a bit cheesy(??) and was very annoyed with it at times. Now, I said I liked the story line, yes, but as ever before, I am cheesy so I don't have a problem with cheesiness or cliches. But some this just didn't work for me.

See, I didn't have that much to reflect on. I personally thought they could've been much longer, but that's just me.
